Ray / Rae Pencil is a half-Japanese, gender-fluid game designer who gained popularity from their Flash projects on Newgrounds.com.  They specialize in action games and have a special love for designing boss battles.

In 2009, Ray / Rae's debut game project "Dadgame" received a 92% positive rating from over 4 million players.

From 2013-2021, Ray / Rae honed their skill at Spry Fox as a game designer on many of their major titles such as "Road Not Taken", "Steambirds: Alliance," and "Cozy Grove."

Since 2021, Ray / Rae has been employed at Galvanic Games, serving as the combat designer on Galvanic's flagship title "Wizard With A Gun," published by Devolver Digital. They were responsible for designing the entirety of the title's combat and contributed significantly to core systems and features. Their work has garnered praise for its engaging gameplay and profound consideration of the player experience.

For their personal projects, Ray / Rae does all of their own design, art, animation, music, sound design, and coding.
